Bukit Ketumbar - Cheras Baru, Kuala Lumpur

Top of Ketumbar Hill

Bukit Ketumbar located at Cheras Baru in Kuala Lumpur with the height of around 300 meters and distance around 1.4km to the top. Average hikers can reach the top within 1 hour. Its super easy.

A glance through on the trail

How to get There
You can google Ketumbar heights condominium for parking spot. GPS Coordinate : 3.102194, 101.751660.

You may park your care along the road. If you follow this road to the end, there is an ample parking space but the parking space there is quite congested as there is an Indian temple.

It is easy to go out if you can just park along the roadside at cheras ria flat. From parking to trailhead is more or less 400 meters. Just follow the trail to go up. There are few trails leading to the peak.

Road Side Car park, along Cheras Ria Apartment. You can see "Cheras Ria" apartment on the left of the photo above. Going straight is Ketumbar Height Condo

After Ketumbar Height Condo, continue walking.
A lot of hikers during weekend

The indian temple is on the left. The starting point is ahead.

At the end of the road, this is the trailhead entrance - with juice stall

The distance from my car park to trailhead is around 400 meters.

The small altar welcomes every hikers

around less than 100 meters up, you will reach this junction.
On the left going up can straight go to the peak which is nearer.
Or you can choose more longer trail route which is on the right

For me, I choose right trail because it is more challenging and more longer (a bit la).

Left or right it will lead to same direction

going straight is to the peak, or you can turn on the right for magnificent view

At the top of Ketumbar Hill. Its around 1.4km from start after deducting 400 meters distance from parking.

The peak is well preserved with canopies, bench and few exercise equipment. There are many leisure hikers here so no need to worry about loneliness ...haha.
Kindly take note on the not-so-wild boar at the area, they just looking for food and will not harm you. But try to avoid them.

Descending is also super easy and short as I took the easiest way down. 20 minutes later you are back at the start. Easy.

the journey end at around 2.3km (minus 400 meters - distance from parking)

Bukit Ketumbar is suitable for all ages and good for training ground for elevation.
