This was an old post. Another method of converting video files can be found here
Proton Exora DVD Player will have no issue in playing the DVD disc – Original or contraband, yes, proton got that covered for you.
(And yes, for RM80k plus of MPV, the radio don’t even have a
USB port for playing music...boring)
However, in this millennium where disc is considered a space
clutter, having a digital movie is a must for a city dweller (especially miserable guy like me).
And to add the joy, most of your day will be spent traveling to work, school, kindergarten (and repeat,.. say....for the rest of
your life..)
Having a family with 4 children can give you happiness or
high blood pressure and keeping them accompany is essential during traveling.
Back to the DVD player, the invention to divert your child’s
intention to a small screen above would be the best choice – luring with entertainment.
Hooray..!! the DVD player is equipped with USB port –
meaning to say that I can play movie through via portable data storage.
The DVD player only plays with compatible file format i.e
avi (with codex xvid), movie clip, rmvb and few other unknown files.
It can’t play the most common files downloaded from the
internet via Piratebay or torrent i.e mp4 and mkv. I have hundreds of files at
these type of format which can’t be played.
The only way to play this type of file (MP4 and MKV) is to
convert it first using your PC.
Just to make it simple : the objective here is to convert your favorite movie to Mpeg1
Here it goes :
Step 1 : Download a MP4 to Mpeg converter
Most of full version converter will need to be purchased, but you
can download it free from Pirate Bay.
I use WIN X HD Converter Deluxe. Once
downloaded, install it and apply the registration code (come together in the
txt file – cut and paste in the registration column) – and you’re done.
Step 2 : Open the WIN X HD Converter Deluxe
Step 3 : Choose your Movie File – You can select multiple
files and convert at the same time
Step 4 : Choose the output format : please choose Mpeg1 –
its the safest, easy to use and guaranteed can be played at your Exora DVD.
Step 5 : Choose your output destination : just put desktop –
easy to spot
Step 6 : Click ‘RUN’ , the blue button at your bottom right and
wait for the conversion to take effect. Normally for 1 hour 30 minutes movie,
it will take about 30 minutes or so to finish.
conversion in progress - the conversion duration is shown here
Step 7 : copy the file that you just converted to your
external data storage (USB memory) and plug it at your exora DVD player.
My nightmare had come to an end.....
